"For anyone searching for a builder to construct their dream home, hopefully this review of K&L Homes will be helpful to you. We started on our dream journey of living in Chelan many many years ago. It wasn’t until Covid changed our lives did we finally commit to pursuing the dream. Our relationship with K&L began a couple of years before, as we spoke with them on many occasions and even after all our hemming and hawing about moving forward, they still had us on their project list and waited patiently for us to be ready. Even so, after we purchased our property, we did our due diligence and interviewed numerous builders in the area. None of which were able to provide a comprehensive price structure attached to our project as K&L was able to do, nor provide the type of home we were looking to build. To sum up this paragraph, K&L provided us a home at a fair price with no surprises to our signed contract as we moved along in the process.
K&L was a huge advocate for us when we ran into easement issues and worked around the clock with the county, the city, and the developer to resolve the issue. Honestly, I don’t know if we would have continued the build if it had not been for K&L. Clearly, communication with the K&L Team was ever present. The home itself? Could not be happier! Quality materials and workmanship! I pinch myself as I look out our beautifully trimmed windows at our view and marvel at how it looks like a picture with an amazing frame around it! We were also pleased with the pre-construction work to help design and understand how to fit the house on the lot, the results are perfect. Now that we have been in our dream home, we are also finding follow-up for those few items (mostly paint touch-ups) is going along smoothly. So impressed with the responsiveness from everyone! "We had decided to retire in the Chelan/Manson area many years ago. Choosing to have someone else build our house for us was a huge decision since my husband was a general contractor and he built our previous houses. After touring a couple of our neighbors homes, we were impressed with the quality of the builds and the standard selections K&L offered. It was a big deal for us to let go of the reins and have someone build and project manager our home. K&L did not disappoint. We were very happy with the crews and craftsmanship. K&L is a quality builder and in spite of the pandemic and COVID delays, things went smoothly and the house was completed in a timely manner. Working with Pat & Shannon to set everything up and follow the build through as well as JoLynn for all our design selections was great; a fantastic crew and were easy to work with, even for our custom items. Using their Buildertrend app for design selection and various communications was so valuable during the Pandemic. We were very impressed with this app! "K&L Homes, LLC was good to work with from the initial design of my home with my architect (Sageland) to the final finishes up here in Legacy Ridge, especially given the COVID situation. Building an 1857 sq ft rambler here in Chelan was a very daunting experience for me as I had never built a home before! Between the front office staff of Shannon and JoLynn, and Pat, the Project Mgr, they made the process a bit less stressful for me. Even Kevin and Lana the owners of K&L guided me in my decision making when their expertise made all the difference! From determining how to best take advantage of our property’s view of Lake Chelan, build a single-level home and include an inground pool, Joel and Kevin were fantastic advisors. "My husband and I met with a couple construction companies to build a home on our new lot at Lake Chelan. Being new to this, we were uncertain what questions to ask and how to proceed. The builders came to the property and gave an estimate of cost per square foot then told us to find house plans ourselves. We felt a bit overwhelmed on where to turn to find the correct types of house plans that will meet the HOA requirements and fit properly on the lot. Our real estate agent recommended we meet with K & L Homes, a local family-owned company that recently developed a new community in town, and who were more reasonable per-square-foot costs. We toured the development and fell in love with the model home. K&L Homes owner, Kevin Aho, and foreman, Joel, came to the property and helped us configure the model home plans to the square footage we needed and to fit the property. This was just the beginning of their personal communication and customization of our build.
Kevin, Joel, and Amy met with us many times, tweaking the plans and customizing the home with the many options available. Amy was helpful in coordinating color options and other finish work with us since we lived out of the area. Once the foundation of the home was framed, the home was completely built in 5 months! Neighbors called us to report on the rapid progress, sharing how impressed they were with the quality of the craftsmanship, dedication of the workers, and progression of the construction; especially because other homes in the area are still being constructed well into 2 years. All the K & L management were in constant communication with us. Terry, another foreman, was available to complete task items discovered after move-in, as minor as burned out light bulbs, patch painting, etc. to ensure we were completely happy. Our home turned out beautifully. We are so happy that we have referred them to build our friend's home, who are happy as well. "
